My Crafty Corner

Ok, so it turns out that the flat I live in is far to small for all of my crafty obsessions and creations, and I have therefore spread them out on the massive crafty table that is the internet, this is My Corner.
Generally speaking everything I make is to be given away - even if I don't want to - but now at least I can keep them on here.

Snippet scavenge

So as I visited the house of hearts this weekend for the annual pancake championship, I thought what better opportunity to procure some stamps and make my Christmas embellishments?
And to show my gratitude I thought I would help mummy Gibbs by using some of her pesky snippets from the big snippet box.  I think it took me half an our to go through and choose, her snippet collection is greater than my stash, but I waded through the goodies to make one of this months birthday cards, though I think I didn't really make much impact on the box :)
So here it is, the image I know is penny black, but the papers are anyone's guess :)

A quick share of my birthday make for aunty Jo, many hap-bee returns :)
The fab backing papers are from the wonderful Funky Hand, and I lurve them too.

Congratulations

So finally I have time to craft after all the stress of wedding stationary, and then a few busy social weekends, but now there is once again time for birthdays, and of course getting ready for Christmas! :)

But before all that a big Congratulations to my baby brother and his girlfriend, who got engaged (without consulting Me).  I have had to have words as I found out via Facebook (other social networks are available) but we are all very pleased about officially extending our tribe :)

Happy Birthday Sal

The first of the June birthdays (and there are quite a few, not to mention Fathers Day) my first brother's girlfriend has just turned 25, which makes me feel slightly less old than I did last month, not that I think 30 is old, but sometimes after digging for 8 hours it does feel it! :-)

Always the girly girl, this gave me the chance to use up some of my pink scrap and a fab penny black image :-)

Sunday morning play

So with all the lurvly sunshine a lie in seems to be impossible, so why not spend the time crafting?

I have had a great time using up some scraps and playing with some of my birthday treats :)

Birthdays

So today is not only my 30th, but also two of my very good friends birthdays too.  This is the first time in 9 years where we have been apart (they are enjoying sunny Spain) but i sent their cards and presents out with them.

Happy Birthday girls, see you soon

Xx

Mothers Day

So now that it has passed, I can finally share the cards that I made for my mummies this year!
One is good, two are better, I may see if I can collect a few more :)

Having put most of my crafty bits away I have discovered the wonder of digi stamps :) And as mummies are special they also get my special hunkydory card too.

An Unbirthday cake

Was my best friends unbirthday yesterday, for which we celebrated with a mad hatters tea crawl!
An what is tea without cake? :)

Just a note

So my crafty toys are yet again taking over the flat, but I reckon it's necessary with all the bits and pieces I need to do over the next few weeks.
Anyway, even though I am busy making all the stationary, I thought I write a quick note to say I would be attending my friends wedding, and to confirm my squatting status in someone's house :)
This is my quick make - using the old trusty penny black image K1683 Things to do, and a few fabby funky hand papers

Cupcakes

So, i have a new phone and i thought i would try blogging from it, just to see if i could :)
Paul my lurvely fella has been busy in the kitchen as my sous chef making some fab cakes.
We were going to give some to his work mates, but i reckons we can probably ask for a small donation :)

FINALLY

So I have finally finished my super slow progress creation - it turns out that once I got started it only took a few hours to do, but it seemed to take me forever to get started :)

It was originally supposed to have been a Xmas present, but then I got busy doing other presents, cards etc so unfortunately it got bumped back, but seeing as the intended recipients birthday is only a week or so away I thought I aught to get it done.

So here it is:

He is supposed to be a Dalek, and I think he's great - although he looks slightly like an overstuffed penguin :)

Brother No.1

So today is my first brother's birthday - I don't get to speak to him often but managed to have a text chat whilst I was on my way home this evening. I have managed to lose his address again, so sent his card to my folks to pass on. He is popping around to visit them tonight and my Dad was in charge of picking up a cake. I told my bro that he will have forgotten and not to get is hopes up, but he was adamant that Dad's love of cake will override his general forgetfulness and there will be cake. I rang the old's when I got home to check in - Dad answered - and low and behold he has forgotten the cake and is now ringing my brother to tell him to pick one up on his way round :) LOL!
Still at least he will have my card when he gets there :)

I found these guys on line and I think they are great - I got the whole family which form a band but just used these two this time. They are body tots from the digi doodle shop, who also have loads of other cool images, and even do freebies.

Anyway much more crafting to do - and dinner to eat

Manic Scraps

So it appears that March has more birthdays in it than I had originally anticipated, they just keep cropping up!

Anyway with that in mind I have been manically crafting to get the first lot ready, and make a start on the rest of the month, not to mention mothers day is just around the corner and I seem to be gaining mothers :)

This week I start a new job - yay me, but sadly means I have to temporarily have to leave my voluntary job with the Horniman Museum, and as I now wont see her on her birthday had to quickly make a birthday card for one of the girls.

The image is Penny Black's 3100K Green Line, and the backing papers from the scraps - one of which I know is funky Hand, but not sure about the other. It seems that I have almost used all of my green scraps - but not to worry I am sure I will be making some more soon, I need them to join in with Jules Snippet challenge :) Anyway over all not too bad for a ten minute make at ridiculous o'clock in the morning.

Invites :)

Ok so I had a manic weekend up in luverly Edinburgh desperately trying to get my friends wedding invitations made - only 50 evening and 95 daytime invites - no problem :) They moved up to Edinburgh in September last year and this was the first chance I got to go and see them so I was quite excited, and as I am having the first of my birthday parties up there this year, I thought it would be a good chance to check things out too. I don't know why but my trains were delayed not only going, but coming home too, if only I had taken some crafty bits to colour in! Anyway, I checked with the Bride (and more importantly my second best friend - the chief bridesmaid) and I am now allowed to share the daytime version of the invite :)

I my friends always laugh at me as I am quite OCD about things, but rather surprisingly and probably due to the time constraints I didn't let it bother me too much and we managed to rattle these off, and I think they look great, and rather nicely the few we did manage to make small mistakes on I covered these with the ribbon, and before you say anything - these aren't written yet, hence the fact that I haven't trimmed the ends of the ribbon yet, I am OCD enough to do that :) If you look closely you can see where Gill or Amanda managed to get the distress ink all over the box we were using as a table too...

Sneaky Peek

So I have just a few minutes until I need to leave for the train to Scotland - I'm finally off up there to visit my friends and have the crafty weekend we have been planning for months to get the wedding invitations made, but before I shoot off I thought I would leave you a sneaky peek of a tiny corner:

Must dash now,

Happy V. Day

Just a quickie post tonight as it is getting late - we've just come back from a loverly curry and I am feeling at least one size larger, had to open the top button of my trousers when I got home, he he!
Anyway - now that he has seen it I can post my valentine's creation, and I thought I would also share the loverly card that I received too.

The image is from Stamp Addicts and the backing paper from Funky Hand's "I Do Word Book" which is getting used up after having been printed off some time ago for some inspiration for my friends wedding invites - but it is definitely coming in handy now :)

This is the loverly card I got from Paul - although I think I nearly didn't get it! I had a busy crafty weekend, and Paul decided yesterday that he wanted to make me a card - bless. Anyway he went through my stash and stole what he wanted, demanding to share my Promarkers to colour the image. Anyway - I'm by no means an expert but I nearly wet myself laughing at Paul's attempt at shading his mice, in the end he managed to save them as you can see, but I wish I had progress photographs that I could have shared with you - hence the fact I nearly didn't receive it.
He has now forgiven me, but I am on best behaviour just in case.

1st Anniversary

So there seems to be a few Anniversaries popping up in Feb, but the 1st one (in that it is their 1st and the 1st in my year) is only a few days away :) So I thought to myself I aught to crack on with a card and get it posted :)

So with a first anniversary being paper what could be better than a card with some amazing backing papers on it?

The image is Penny Black 1590 F Loving Mice, which I have coloured with Promarkers, all of the backing papers are from Funky Hand - I Do Word Book, and card candy from the stash.

I am going to enter this in to this months funky hand challenge - Going round in circles!

Now off to get the prep done for my friends wedding invitations...

Belated Blog Birthday

OMG!
With all the excitement of being away for January - and my "New Year" in blogland I completely overlooked my Blogs 1st Birthday - So Blog, this is for you:

Happy happy belated birthday Blog
I will try not to forget again, though I can't promise anything :)

On a roll

OK, so still technically in my "first week" of the year and already another post - no doubt I wont be able to keep this up but I will try, she says :)
So as I live in a shoe box whenever I get out my crafty toys they seem to take over - my wonderful husband usually doesn't say anything - at least not for a few days - but at the minute they are in the bath and blocking the bathroom door, so I thought I would get a few cards done so I could put at least some of the bits away, I do understand that the baths primary purpose isn't for stamp storage :) although to be honest it's not like it's big enough to have a bath in either!

So today's share is my Mum's birthday card. She isn't really in to reds and pinks but I got these bits out for Jule's Sunday Scrap, thinking Valentines, but thought they looked to good here to hoard for any longer.

The image is Penny Black's 2070K Frequent Flyer, Flowers from Bee Crafty, and the embossing is Provo Craft's Iron Works. Scraps from the box, and coloured with Promarkers, I am going to enter this in a couple of challenges: I Lv Promarkers, Sir Stampalot Challenge, and Penny Blacks @ Allsorts too.

Right I'm off now to create some more - must get Paul's Valentine card done - and a couple of anniversary ones too, then I'll empty the bath :)

Another New Year

Ok, so I know that technically it's not the start of the year but this is the first creation of the ear, and as I was away for the first three weeks of January my new year is starting now (ish), that way making me seem more productive than I actually am.

So first birthday card of the year goes to my hugely talented nephew Benjamin, who has had one of his short stories published on his schools blog, and it is way better than anything I could have written when I was his age, and possibly even now! If you are interested you can see it here. I can't believe he is only turning eleven!

I am joining Jules this week in the Scrap Sunday using up bits and pieces that are lying around, and have even incorporated some of my husband's old wax pictures too for the background,
and the image is a lily of the valley that I 'pinched' a little while ago and coloured with promarkers, and therefore is within the rules! Lucky for me I can also use it in the I Lv Promarkers Challenge this week.

Will try to get more blogging done this year - and be back soon!
